Magritte's pipe taught us. Warhol's Brillo boxes reminded us. Yet we don't care to remember that we shouldn't believe what we see, judge a book by its cover, or trust that a piece of tape is just a piece of tape and not a brush of paint. We don't care because we never cease to be amused by the trickery.

The moment we realise that we've been conned into looking at paint is the moment we're forced to re-evaluate. As a true (con) artist, that 'made ya look' moment drives my work.
